Sarong Baby

@ 19 months, Ashlynn is still taking her afternoon naps in the sarong. The up-down motion never fails to pacify a screaming Ashlynn / put her to bed. The sarong was our magical, instant solution! I often wonder how Ashlynn is going to get used to naps without a sarong when she goes over to mum's place come Jan (will be shifting to mil's place come Saturday cos we've sold Bayou n Ashlynn will thus hv to be ferried to mum's place on a daily basis as part of the childcare arrangement) or when she eventually goes to childcare. Well, my superb mum will find a way! Trust the wise oldies!

How about Adri? Did she hv any difficulty adjusting when she went to Sch? Not at all. Adri, on the contrary, didn't like sleeping in the sarong a wee bit, since she was a lil' babe.

Here's my cheeky babe enjoying the sarong. She purposely 'popped' her head out to signal to us that she was awake! Cute, but mummy was worried that she might lose her balance and tumble off!

Build-A-Bear

Since Adri's 2nd birthday, we have been making it a point to take Adri to 'Build A Bear' either on her actual birthday or on days close to it.
This year is no different.

This peculiar idea of wanting to give Adri a keepsake each year came from eh-hem, yours truly. I thought it would be meaningful to have the bears 'grow' with her! While Adri grows in age, the bears will grow in numbers! Well, this 'tradition' started only when Adri was two and not one simply because we thought that a one-year-old Adri wasn't quite ready to make choices of such nature n she probably wouldn't appreciate the process of making a bear at one.

We pass by Build-A-Bear very often and somehow, though always excited and amazed, Adri always knew that she would only get to make a bear each year and that would be on her birthday (that's our way of making this 'tradition' significant) and she never did ask to make a bear on 'normal' days.
Come her birthday, however, she would excitedly remind us of the significant event! Adri got to make her bear today!

Adri has three bears thus far. At 2 years of age, she chose a brown bear. At 3, Adri chose a blue bear. At 4, Adri chose a bright pink bear!

I wondered if Adri was somersaulting at such a slow speed that 3 good pics could be taken! :D

Adri LOVED the Gymkids programme in her previous school. Without fail, she would return home full of zest, eager to try out the 'stunts' she learnt during her weekly Gymkids lessons.

Unlike Shekinah, Character doesn't conduct weekly gymnastic lessons. An active and rugged girl by nature, I wonder if she missed those gym lessons...

I spoke too soon yesterday.
Ashlynn's high temperature only subsided for a while. Approx 3 hrs later, her body temp shot up from a good 37.4 degree C to past 39 degree C!
Worrying! Mart and I sponged her to bring down her body temp significantly each time the thermometer 'threatened' a reading that was close to 39 degree C.

Ashlynn was a tad grouchy and listless yesterday.
Today, it was lots better, her temp fluctuated between 37.1 to 38+. Thank God!
She's back to her 'impish' self. Papa Mart actually called Ashlynn our little imp! Kekeke... :D

Adri @ School (July 2011)

In July, Adri learnt about generosity.
I vividly recall a day where Adri returned home and shared that we should all be generous and share what we have.
Spontaneously, she went on singing the Generosity Song and rattling about the things that she could possibly share with her friends.

Another highlight of this month-swimming lessons! Water confidence for Adri!! Right at school! :D
