Mum unconditionally suggested that she stay over at my place (which is all the way at Upper Paya Lebar Road, an area she is totally unfamiliar of and hence to step out of my home to "jalan" would be totally impossible for she is likely to get lost should she choose to do so) some time in late July 2010, during the last few days of my maternity leave, before I was due to report to work.
Back then, Mart and I were prepared to lug the two girls all the way to Sengkang, drop Ashlynn off at Mum's, drop Adri at school before heading for work each morning. Well, to be exact, it was likely to be me dropping Ashlynn and Mart dropping Adri (since we both drove).
It was totally Mum to think way ahead of things and she did. Kudos to her!
Mum suggested getting round the hassle of having to drop and pick Ashlynn by she putting up at my place on weekdays.
BRILLIANT was her suggestion!
With breastfeeding, I snap out of my snooze (which starts at ard 12 midnight every day on good days) at 5am to express for a good half an hour, prepare Ashlynn's feed for the day before making a mad rush for the washroom to wash up. Can't imagine how much earlier I would have to wake up just to give the allowance for a detour to Mum's each morning! 4.30am? =O
So that was it. During school term, Mum stays with me on weekends, returns back home on Saturday mornings and comes back on Sunday evenings.
During school holidays however, Mum goes home and gets her well-deserved, undisrupted break.
This year, Mart and I had to take Ashlynn along for our anniversary celebration. Mart and I counted the cost and decided that a lunch would be better for Ashlynn tends to get cranky in the evenings and may turn out to be quite a handful.
Japanese lunch we wanted. However, lunch was nearly impossible.
We spent most of the time "guarding against" Ashlynn who was literally pulling and throwing things off the tiny table we were given. A change of table wasn't possible as the restaurant was fully packed.
Well, I'm nt sure if we got to realish the food, I suppose we were swallowing the food down instead. Nonetheless, we had a good time and with Ashlynn, our 8th anniversary now has an added meaning! =)
The waitress was very tickled by Ashlynn.
Ashlynn was mesmerized by the pretty jie jie too. She kept looking at her!
