Milestone Checks?

Okie, let's see how much i can remember of the little milestones my little
Adri has been making. =D

0 to 2 months
- using her powerful vocals to scream and scream and scream?

2 to 3 months
- sleep the norm + sleep through the night (Really thank God for this! =D)
- flip over to her left and right very slowly
- turn 360 degrees in her bed
- prop her head up while lying on her tummy
- demand to be held upright instead of being cradled.
- coo
- smile!
(hey, this is quite an achievement from a little one who cried incessantly)

3 to 4 months
- smile more! =D
- speak gibberish
- hold very light items like pieces of paper (eg, an angbao)

4 to 5 months
- totally flip over and sleep on her little tummy
- grab and let go of items
- reach for her feet and at times put them into her mouth (Cute but eeks! =p)
- use her buttocks and legs to push herself forward
(This one is funny. There were many times when i was awakened by her screams and found her head against a corner of the bed, trying her very best to push through the bed frame =D)
- took her first cereals
(Baby began to wake up in the middle of the night and giving her some cereal before she turned in helped! =D Boy, sleep is precious. Mummy has to wake up at 5am every day!)

5 months til today
- chuckle heartily during the game of peek-a-boo
- crawl (but rather unsteadily)!

Might have missed out some.
To be updated. =)

Quick Updates...

Apologies, i know i have been MIA-ing for months. Not that i've forgotten about my blog, i just didn't have the energy to blog ever since i returned to work (15 Feb).

Boy, talking about that, one pregnancy + motherhood really makes a HUGE difference. I can't really tell ya how dif it is, but it juz is!
My capacity's been so limited, both physically and mentally.
Am not complaining, Motherhood is still a wonderful + fulfilling + rewarding experience.
And nope, i've not forgotten the months when Adri just refused to sleep in the afternoons and cried incessantly and also, the days when Adri literally stayed awake from 12midnight to 6am for a whole month (when she was 2 months old)!
Well, guess that made Motherhood an awesome experience - to see your little babe grow and make little milestones.

From one who didn't really know how to play with kids, i'm now a "Makcih" (Auntie in the Malay Language).
Daphne actually witnessed me initiating conversations with total strangers about their babies! Asking them about their babies' age, weight and all!
Yep, not shy i was. I guess it's an understood connection + bond amongst mothers, esp novice mums! =D
Am actually quite proud of myself...at least i know i do exude some maternal instinct. =D

Okie, some quick updates about little Adri.
I'm really enjoying her. She's abt 6.5kg and "stands" (or rather, crawls) at 63cm.
A REAL bundle of joy.

Here's some pics of her...just to fill in the gaps. =p

These are pics of Adri @ 3 months old.

And ta-da! Pics of the 4-month-old Baby Adri! =D

I still find my little babe photogenic.

I've been printing her pics and putting them in an album. Haven't had much time to scrap them but i "think" i will.
Well, print 'em all before the labtop crashes...you'll never know when. i dun keep back-ups! =p

Am feeling...

It's not one of my moodswings but i've been feeling a little down lately. Yet another mentor of mine will be leaving school real soon, and this time round, for good, for a higher calling. Only got to know news of his coming departure few weeks back and he'll be leaving next month =(

It really stings *Ouch...*

How not to when he's both a boss and a fren? He has always provided me with a psychological safe learning environment since day 1, with plenty of room to learn and make mistakes. Without his guidance and graciousness, i wouldnt have been who i am.

He's absolutely someone whose:
Wits i admire,
Presence i treasure and
Wisdom i desire (but cannot have)

Am really happy for him but will defintely miss his presence, for he has really left many deep footprints throughout all these years...

CNY Day 1

This CNY was a mad rush for Mummy!
Both hubby and i way overslept and instead of reaching my parents' place at 9.30am, we woke up at 9.45am! Literally jumped out of bed and dressed up quickly! I felt, for the very first, VERY messy during CNY! =(

My MIL was sweet, suggested having Adri stay over at her place the night before, after reunion dinner, so that Mart and I could catch some quality nap and so we did, so much so that we couldn't hear the alarm ring continuously for more than an hour!
My helper was terribly amused when we awoke, for she had never seen such "terrific nappers".

I felt, for the first in 3 months, that i had finally caught some quality rest but somehow, that one night wasn't enuff...=p

Rushed all the way to in laws' place and after a quick fuss, managed to change Adri who has had her bath and trimmed her nails.
Headed for parents' place shortly after but still, i didn't manage to catch my siblings and their little ones. =(

Below:-
Me trimming Adri's nails, Adri whining while her nappy is being changed.
Finally, a shot with Daddy and Mummy and another with Mummy and Auntie Sabie..

Happy Adri receiving Ang Baos from Grandparents.
She smiled! Hmmm...was she tickled by our cooing or was she actually delighted at what money could get her? =)

Mart and I actually wanted to be the ones to give Adri her first Ang Baos but we were sooooo late that it all slipped our mind...

And these are pics of Adri napping away as well as being carried by Aunty Theresa and Granny.

Make a guess? Who took the pics this time round? =)

Little Piglet!

Doesn't Adri look like the little piglet in "Winnie the Pooh"?
Check out her outfit! All she's missing is that pair of ears!
And ha, she's got a new nickname. =D

Isn't Little Piglet expressive?

As usual, pics taken by Aunty Sabie. On CNY eve. Mummy happily handed Little Piglet to Grandma and had a hearty meal...=p
I do need some "time out" =D

2 Feb

Both Daddy and Mummy had to work so Princess Adri had to be under Granny's care.
Granny was sweet, came over to stay overnight the night before and took real great care of Adri so that Mummy could have a good rest from the week's toll.

Aunty Sabie came over later in the day n of course, the following pics are, once again, compliments from dear Aunty Sabie... =)

Mummy and Daddy returned in the evening and the whole group of us went to Sakae Sushi for a hearty meal.

Little Princess was all wrapped up...doesn't she look like an eskimo baby?
Catch a pic of her sneezing! =D

Sidetrack, Mummy Julia could have returned home earlier but missed an exit on the highway and ended up at Changi Airport.....
Fyi, Mummy Julia had travelled along the same route umpteen times!
Sigh....i wonder what was on my mind..
