Mummy: No Adri, no taking things from Mummy's bag.
Adri : No no no no no (looking really stern and waving her little index finger
to-and-fro in a very adult manner)
Thereafter, she stopped removing items from my bag and fiddled with whatever else she could lay her hands on.
Cute! =D

More!
Adri took a bite of her baby biscuit and toddled off to play with her toys.
After a few seconds, she returned for another bite.
Instead of grabbing the biggest bite she could and thereafter toddle away again, Adri uttered matter-of factly, “More.”
I was simply thrilled. Adri figured removing “no” from “no more” = more!
She is able to ask for more!
Clever Adri! =D

No More...
"This is the last bite, Adri. No more after this."
As expected, Adri returned for more baby tidbits.
"No more, Adri," I repeated.
"Mmm? No More?" the seemingly puzzled Adri queried.
"Yes, Adri. No more biscuits..." I reminded her yet again, gently.
Almost immediately, Adri turned and toddled off, without whining but with understanding.

Nose, Ear & Mouth
Where is Mummy’s nose, Adri?
Adri points to my nose.
Where is Rabbit’s nose, Adri?
Adri points to the stuffed toy’s nose.
Where is Mummy’s ear, Adri?
Adri points to my ear.
Where is Rabbit’s ear, Adri?
Adri points to Rabbit’s ear.
Where is Mummy’s mouth, Adri?
Adri points to my mouth.
Where is Rabbit’s mouth, Adri?
Adri stares at Rabbit and thereafter blinked at me.
Adri could not point to me Rabbit’s mouth for Mashi Maro does not have a mouth!
Lo and Behold, Mummy did not realize that til’ Adri simply blinked and didn’t know what to do. =D

Lou Hei
24.01.09
As much as we wanted Adri to join us in the Lou Hei this year, she too, was very keen to do what we adults do.
Watch how she handled the chopsticks...
Think the thrill in being able to play with food (for once) caused her to go on and on, even when we had dug into the food.
Did she ask for food?
Nope, she didn't. But she sure did put the chopsticks to her lips!=D

A lil' Sun @ Pasir Ris Park
24.01.09
We took Adri to Pasir Ris Park. Boy, she sure had a lot of fun! Catch the video and pics! =D
Adri builds a sandcastle and is irritated by the wet sand that remained stuck on her hand...
After a little mess at the beach, we took her to the playground.
Thereafter, it was a lil' sweet surprise at Macs! =D
At the end of the day, all three of us were extremely exhausted! Though we would very much like to, we couldn't do what Adri did - She dozed off the moment she settled herself comfortable at the back seat of the car. Well, that's a child's perogative. =) . .

Babies...
We were on our way home when Adri spotted a baby cradled in a mummy's arms.
"Baby," said the eager Adri as she pointed at the little baby.
Further to the baby pics, Adri does know what a baby is and is able to identify one! =D
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Baby," muttered Adri as she patted my stomach.
I was shocked + amused.
Adri affirmed that i wasn't imagining things by repeating the very act and words.
That of course cracked me up.
Adri's extended knowledge of babies - they come from mummies' tummy! =D
.
P.S. In case you are wondering, I am not expecting

THE Day I had been Waiting for...
I must pen this down before my memory fails me.
I suppose it is only natural for parents to "watch out" for the next trick and/or treat from their little ones. I am no exception.
Adri mastered crawling at a very young age and hence it was only natural for me to watch out for her next milestone - walking.
Milestone Check
@ 7 months - Adri cruised around the house
@ 11 months - Adri took one step unassisted (yes, only one)
@ 11+ months - Adri walked around the house holding on to someone's hand
@ 12 months n 1 week - Adri took a few steps unassisted
01.01.09 - Adri walked around unassisted! =D
She was exactly 13 months and 1 week old.
Adri was pushing this walker cum trolley around the house and crashing it into tables and chairs and cats and dog when she decided to let go and toddle around.
She did that so naturally and without much fumbling that it took me a few seconds to realise that my little one was actually WALKING.
Since then, crawling has been history.
What's next?
She should be running soon. =D

Baby n Na-nas
21.01.09
The moment we stepped into NTUC, Adri went "Na-nas!"
Help started giggling the moment she heard that.
Puzzled, i asked her what "Na-nas" meant.
Little did i know that Adri had set her sights on the bunches of bananas that were hung several metres away, blocked by crowds of pple who were jostling around...
Impressed I was. =)
.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Back home, Adri uttered "Baby" while pointing at her own baby pictures.
Naturally, Mummy affirmed her excitedly with "Yes Adri, this is a picture of Mummy and you, a picture of Mummy and Baby Adri."
Obviously beweirdered, she pointed at the Mummy in the picture then looked at me.
I wondered if she had this thought - How did Mummy end up in the picture?

Elmo and Kisses
Mummy: How do you blow a kiss, Adri?
Adri : Mmmm-ma... (with palm on her lips)
Mummy: Look Adri, Elmo!
Adri : Eee-mo...
Mummy: Blow a kiss again and say bye bye to Elmo, Adri
Adri : Mmm-mo...
Confused?

Toddling and Picking
Ever since Adri gained independance and started toddling around all by herself, it's been rather hard to contain her. She wouldn't allow anyone to hold her hands and would just brush yours away. Try to block her path and she'll detour. Quite smart for a 14-month old, eh?
Mart and I took Little Adri to NTUC yesterday and we got more than what we expected. Puzzled, Mart wondered why i had chosen certain peculiar items. One quick scan at our shopping bags and we realised that Little Adri had been picking items off the shelves (obviously the low ones) while she toddled around the supermarket.
Buried under what we picked up were large packets of gummy sweets.
Amazing huh?
