Yet Another Surprise! =D

Guess wat Adri said the moment she woke up this morning?
Yes, it was "Da-Da" again! And she looked at Mart while she said that! =D
Nope, no "Mummy" or "Ma Ma" yet. =/ =l =)

Okie, some pics for the day.

Adri is standing! Yet another milestone! =D

Adri's posing for the camera...wondering y Mummy was all excited.

Mummy was soooo proud of Adri! Adri could pull herself up!

Daddy tried a family pic. We happened to be in green!

Milk for Adri before we left home for lunch + jalan.

A pic with Daddy @ T3 (Changi Airport)

Adri, obviously bored. Sitting by herself. Daddy + Mummy were eating.

What will it be like tmr? More surprises? =D

THE Moment...

Yes, it's one of the moments all parents wait for...Baby's first words!

We talk, we coo, we babble, we gibber, we do all sorts just to communicate with our little ones and we wait, for sure, patiently yet anxiously for them to speak their very first word(s). We get all hyped up at every little new sound that they make. We even try to decipher if those sounds make a proper word.
Of course, we want to experience those magical moments.

Finally, THE moment for Adri!
I'm just soooooo excited!

Mart: I think i heard Adri say "Dare-dare (meaning DA-ddy)".
Me : Really?! (Kinda doubting him...perhaps i was hoping that it would be "Ma-ma" or "Mammy")
Mart: Yup, and quite a few times..
Me : Thinking to myself while getting milk ready, "Cool, perhaps true, but just not clear enuff."

Then we spent the next few minutes trying to get Adri to say "Dare-Dare" again by repeating them slowly.
And you guessed it! She mouthed those very words! =D
Contrary to what i was thinking, she said them VERY clearly!
Of course, we were all smiles. =D

I wanted to make sure it wasn't our imagination and/or incidental and we repeated the process and waited...
I'm just sooooo proud of her!
She said those words a couple of times! Even audible for me to hear while i was at the kitchen and she, at the living room!

THE moment.
Adri's first words - "Da-da"

She's really Daddy's girl. =D =D =D

Adri's Supper Time!

It's a routine for Adri to have her supper at around 9.30pm.
She'll take some 4 (tea)spoonfuls of cereal followed by 150ml of milk.
Yep, that's supper. Adri's supper is the heaviest meal of the day.
A cut in either = her waking up in the middle of her night.

Obesity? Not worried. She's so active (she only naps for half an hour in the day!) that she's lost so much fats and i can now feel her rib bones! =(

Okie, cereal time! =D

Adri sits up...

...060608...

Can't rem exactly when Adri actually mastered the art of sitting up without help.
Prob when she just turned 6 months?

A pic of her playing on her own.

Mummy wanted to steal some time to do some work, hence shifted her play mat into the study. Thought i could keep an eye on her as she played and as i did some work but alas, Adri soon got bored of playing alone, crawled to the foot of my study chair and started licking it!
Eeeks!! just imagine the amount of dust! I dun think my help was diligent enuff to clean that portion regularly. And i certainly didn't!

Pics of Adri crawling on the bed. Happy!
She loves the piggy to bits!
Each time Mart uses that to play with her, she chuckles heartily!

Caught her similing at the piggy? =D

5-Month-old Adri!

How time flies! Adri is already 6.5 months!
That said, i've yet to upload recent pics of my little one and the following are really long overdue.

Pics of Adri when she was 5 months old

Was wondering if i could just guess what my little one was thinking...
Possible thoughts of hers:-
Pic 1: How many more pics to go? *Sian*
Pic 2: I'm absolutely not ready for a picture!
Pic 3: Why did Auntie Nina dress me up in a tudung?
Pic 4: I'm having a fever, it's all becos of the jab i had yesterday...
Pic 5: Mummy bought me some new clothes again and i'm all ready for a trip out!
Pic 6: See? I can hold me own milk bottle, Mummy!
Pic 7: Let me try and do some baby hip-hop!
Pic 8: I dun mind my new chair but i dun like this rubber teat that mummy just gave me!
Pic 9: Nice evening stroll....I'm falling asleep...

Cute, isn't she? =D

Watch Adri Crawl!

Boy, it's really difficult to share a video via blogspot.
The last i tried, it took me near 3 hours with "video error" as the end result. =(
Yep, i guessed it, the video is too huge. Hence, i uploaded this video of my little one onto Youtube. Faster, but not quite snappy afterall. This one took me some 50 minutes to upload!

Here the link:

This video was taken on Fri ( 060608), the day i was home alone with Adri...
Hope the link works! =D

I've two more videos to share and will try to upload them soon. =)

Home alone with Adri...

I'm dead beat.

My help left for home and the next is due to arrive in a few weeks' time. So for the time being, it’s DIY. Haven't been home alone with Adri for a whole day since Feb and boy, it's really exhausting.

Adri’s crying a lot lesser as compared to in Feb (that’s a huge bonus!) but she still demands a lot of attention and whines when she can’t find me. She’s still sleeping very little in the day and spends hours crawling around and that explains why fatigue set in to Mummy, Mummy had to watch her.

Adri only napped twice throughout the day, each of half an hour! While she napped, I was buzzing around the house doing the seemingly endless chores at the fastest possible speed – laundry, dishes, vacuuming, mopping etc…Needless to say, it was quite impossible to finish em’ all within half an hour so there were moments where I actually had Adri like a little joey; I had her in a sarong and cleared the chores while carrying her, taking great care to avoid splashing water on her while doing the dishes, avoid hitting her with the mop etc. There were times where I actually felt as if I was personifying a peasant, a farmer’s wife who had to carry her babe while she worked! =p

Sounds so pathetic right? But I refused to engage part-time help. To have a help is a bonus but I just don’t believe I can’t manage when I don’t have one. Was doing fine before baby came. That said, I absolutely don’t like it when I fail to manage myself/my life well. Eh, don’t get me wrong, I’m not one who’s controlling. Self-management is an essential skill. Teachers out there, that’s one domain of SEL… =p

Okie, got to get back to work now. I have an exam paper due when school reopens and I haven’t had time the whole day to work at it. Gone are the days where I could just work on a paper for ten hours a day without much disturbance and clear the paper within two or three days! Well, part and parcel of parenting! =)

P.S. Actually came online to upload a video that i took of Adri today but the uploading seems to be taking ages....guess the file is way too huge.
